waveR

WaveR beschäftigt sich mit Wagners Leitmotiven, insbesondere mit dem Wellenmotiv. Durch die Installation wird die Musik visualisiert, hörbar und spürbar gemacht. Der Besucher streicht über die Welle aus Plexiglas und spielt so das Motiv ab. Die Töne werden durch einen vom Computer gesteuerten Oszillator generiert. Die Richtung und Geschwindigkeit der Streichbewegung bestimmt ob die Noten langsamer, schneller oder rückwärts abgespielt werden. Um die der Hand zu markieren leuchten dort die LEDs in einer anderen Farbe als der restliche LED Streifen. Zusätzlich untermalen Seifenblasen die Musik.

waveR is about Wagners leitmotifs, especially about the Wave motif. Through the installation the music is visualised and made touchable and audible. 
By sweeping over the plexiglass wave the visitor is able to play the Wave motif. The sound is generated by an computer controlled oscillator. The sweeping direction and velocity defines if the sound is played slower, faster or backwards. To mark the position of the hand the LEDs underneath it enlighten in a different colour than the rest of the LED strip. Additionally the music is accentuated by bursting bubbles.
