Interactive Scratching
Die Schallplatte ist ein früh entstandenes analoges Medium zur Audiowiedergabe,das früher ganze Generationen geprägt hat. Wir wollten mit unserem Projekt das alte Medium mit einem digitalen Mix verbinden, um neue Formen von Visualisierung und Zusammenhänge mit Musik zu schaffen. Die Basis bildet ein Turntable, der per Klinke mit dem Computer verbunden wird und später durch einen Reactivision Marker mit darüberliegender Kamera erweitert wird.
Zusätzlich zur Wahl der Platte hat man die Möglichkeit verschiedene vorgegebene Loops oder einen selbstaufgenommenen zum Vinylsound zu spielen. Mit den Funktionen des Schallplattenspielers kann man sich herantasten an das Mischen von Spuren und Beatmatching. Das Mixen wird übersetzt in einer interaktiven, reaktiven Infografik die Sound und Mixing des Benutzers live visualisiert.
Vinyl was an early analog medium for playing Audio which left a mark on a entire generation. Our Project connects an old medium with a digital mix to create new forms of visualization and connection to music. Fundamental for it is a turntable connected to a computer via audiocable. It is then extended by adding a reactivision marker with a camera mounted above.
Additional to the choice of Vinyl u can play pre- and selfrecorded Loops. With the functions of the turntable you can try mixing audiotracks and beatmatching. It connects to an interactive, reactive infographic that visualizes the mixing and using of the user.
